Book

Amorous Armlines

Saturday 4th May

2 - 5pm

with Fiona McIntosh

£30 early bird price until 20th April, £35 thereafter

Why are they amorous? Because you should always be ready to be hugged!

Arms are so important in our yoga practice, we require them to be strong and flexible – and flexible they should be. The shoulder joint is the most flexible joint in our body but because of everyday living; driving cars, working at desks, tap-tapping our smart phones our shoulder joints become squeezed and impinged. Our arms are permanently externally rotated, there is no space between our arms and our trunk for the top of the arm bone to rotate in its own socket. Because we can’t access all the muscles that support our arms we feel excessive strain in our wrists and in our elbows, across the top of our shoulders and also into our necks.

This workshop is aimed to give you a more of a picture of where the bones of your arms would ideally like to be; how to re-connect to all the supporting muscles and truly rotate the top of the arm bone in the shoulder socket. By restoring these connections, we can be stronger in how we move our torso with greater freedom.

Chakra Balancing: Yoga & Meditation

Sunday 19th May

10 - 1pm

with Chie Sibbring

£30 early bird price until 5th May, £35 thereafter

Chakra balancing yoga is a beautiful journey of exploring your own Chakra's and life force energy.

The Chakra system represents the architecture of the spirit/soul through seven primary energy centres, located along the spinal cord. Each Chakra corresponds to different fields of enquiry, both physically and mentally.

In this workshop, you will learn Yoga asanas/poses, breathing exercises and meditation that which make you more aware of your body, mind, soul and the life force that moves through your Chakras. Highlighted within, you will  begin to feel your Chakra's and notice which of them work well and which may be out of balance.

It is very normal to see imbalance in the Chakras. Look at this imbalance as as an invitation to explore something new and as an opprtunity to have a healthier mind, body and soul.

More Happy Hips

Sunday 16th June

10 - 1pm

with Jo Duffy

£20 early bird price until 2nd June, £25 thereafter

Another exploration of the hips...

Because of our sedentary lifestyles, we spend a lot of our time sitting and we don't move as much as nature intended.

The stresses of modern life can also cause tension in the hips by stimulating our fight/flight reflex.

Energetically, the hips are the seat of our emotions, which should allow us to adapt and change with whatever life throws at us. However, often our emotional energy gets trapped creating tension and restrictive movement in the hips.

So it's hardly surprising that many of us have tight hips!

If the hips don't move, nor do we - we become rigid and stuck - both physically and emotionally.

So come and spend a morning discovering how and where you have movement and where you don't. We'll explore lots of different ways of releasing the tension in the hips, allowing you to let go and find more movement in your body and more freedom in your mind.

Book

Yoga Inversions

Sunday 23rd June

10 - 1pm

with Chie Sibbring

£30 early bird price until 9th June, £35 thereafter

To Live Young and achieve Self-Realisation

Inverted poses are fundamental and universal in traditional yoga practice. Do you imagine fancy poses such as head-stand, hand-stand when you hear the word inversion? Of course, these are inverted asanas. However, inversions are not necessary to be impressive or acrobatic. We do quite a few inversions in the regular yoga practice such as Downward Facing Dog, Forward Fold and Bridge Pose.

Being upside down is something most children enjoy and it makes them playful, happy and energetic. Adults too can have the same experiences from practising inverted poses. Yoga Inversions are fun, adventurous and have many health benefits. They improve circulation, boost energy, strengthen the core, detoxify the body, stimulate the nervous system, promote balance, build confidence and promotes relaxation.
