Detailed study and application of Muscular and Organic Energy, Inner and Outer Spirals. Understanding these principles in the body and learning to see them in others.

 

Overview of the 7 Energy Loops and how they inter-relate

 

General principles for all classes of poses

 

Practice and deepening awareness of the entire Level 1 syllabus

 

Principles of the “natural breath” in asana and pranayama techniques

 

Meditation

 

Contemplation – Svadhyaya is the practice of self-study. We will use “The Yoga of Discipline” by Swami Chidvilasananda as an aid to the process of self-reflection, so that not only our awareness of habits in asana is developed but also our habits in life, governed by the choices we make: what do we allow into our Consciousness? What are their effects?
