Music Events at Santosha

We have sought out a series of musicians to perform at Santosha in 2012. These evenings will be mostly for you to sit back and enjoy although there will often be an opportunity for optional participation.

This is in addition to our regular kirtan group which is already well established and looking forward to another great year- new attendees warmly welcomed to both listen and participate.

Concert evenings are £10 payable on the door.

Tim Chalice

Saturday, 10th March, 2012
£10 on the door, 7.30pm

"Tim has a voice that echoes the purity of Gregorian chant, the luminosity of true devotion, and the passionate fire in the heart of a contemporary mystic. His voice opens into a wide range of human feeling, that embraces our human-divine longing and awakens our ears, bringing us home to the source - silence"
 - Chloe Goodchild, Founder of The Naked Voice

We are priveledged to welcome Tim to Santosha for an evening of music and togetherness. You can hear his voice and read more about him on his website- www.timchalice.com.

Kirtan Evenings

One of the oldest sacred music traditions of the world, kirtan is a call-and-response chant tradition that originated in India. Using ancient mantras and modern reinterpretations, kirtan calls upon sacred energies which serve to quiet the mind, remove obstacles, and bring us back to the centre of our being.

Although kirtan involves music, musical ability is not important. Everyone can participate, regardless of age or cultural background. No particular belief is required. The chants are easy, and range from light, fun tunes to more soulful offerings. The idea is to get us out of our busy heads and into our hearts – just like yoga.

At Santosha, our kirtan group is new and enthusiastic. We have different backgrounds and abilities, and are inspired by kirtan artists such as Krishna Das, David Newman and Wah! Our kirtan celebrations usually mark the seasons turning and traditional festivals. This is a community activity, and we welcome anyone who wants to help or just come along. We ask only for your enthusiasm, your voice and donations'.

We ask for suggested donations of £5.00
